My TC33D has 109 hours. I changed the hydro filter at 50 hours, but did not change transmission fluid. I added about a gallon of transmission oil to make up for the lost fluid in old filter. The oil level is still not showing up on the dipstick. I noticed the dipstick does not look the same as the one in the book. I am wandering if New Holland put the wrong one in the tractor. Recently I have also noticed that my front end loader does not lift as much weight as it did previously.
Can someone tell me how long the transmission dipstick should be? Also, any ideas on the front end loader not lifting the weight it previously did?

It seems to be common among manufacturers that the documentation has frequent errors. My JD 3410 manual shows a filter that was discontinued a long time ago.
I assume you checked your fluid levels when it was new, or at least before the 50 hour service. Did your dipstick read correctly at that time? ....

When I did the 50 hour break in service on my 4410 I noted that the manual stated the transmission held 7.8 gallons of oil. I put 9 gallons back in to get it to the correct level. The 4410 has a sight glass in leu of a dipstick. What is in the manual is not alway correct or up to date. I would quickly ascertain whether you have the correct dipstick or your oil level is low. If it is low; definitely not doing your tractor any good. Hopefully you may just need to add enough oil to get it up to the dipstick servicable range. The fact that you say the loader is not performing as before may be a good indicator that you are low on oil and the hydraulics may not be getting enough. If you are like me and spilled about 2 gallons worth all over my garage; you may not have put enough oil back in after you changed the filter. ;-) ....

I think there are some 33 owners around here and they could come up with a specific length. My ford 1710 is sort of an uncle to a 33 but I wouldn't want to assume the TX's are similar.
TX fluid is usually checked with all cylinders retracted. If the levels are marginally low having a loader or 3ph up may make the difference between seeing or not seeing oil on the dipstick. A filter isn't going to hold a gallon of oil so maybe the level was pretty low to start with. If a new loader or other hydraulic implements were charged from the tractor hydraulics without topping up the oil, the level could be very low. Low oil will make for a weak loader and one that won't go to full height. ....

Chief: I have a pail pump I got from Northern Tool. It saves me from spilled oil or overflowing things while trying to balance a bucket and holding a funnel with a long flex spout on it. The unit is a lever pump that mounts on a steel replacement lid for a standard 5-gallon oil pail. ....

TomG, from how you described the funnel and pail; sounds like you have dumped your share of oil on the floor too ehh??? ;-) I need sound proof walls in the garage so all of the yelling and fowl langage stay there. LOL! Seriously I try to watch that stuff. I was running all the oil through a filter funnel which was really slow. It holds about 1 1/2 gallons. I turned my back for just a second and it tipped over.......full on the floor. I laugh about it now but I was real tired then and not such a happy camper. ....

I haven't had a major spill since I was a kid but they were nightmares then and my dad was particular about oil on the garage floor. URAAGAUH: Hate to think about it even now.
My pail pump probably has saved me from spills. I took a look at the TX and front axle fills after I got my Ford and said, Yikes how to I get oil in there? I just couldn't see myself wrestling with a full 5-gallon pail with one arm and holding a funnel with the other hand. I didn't take too long for me to find the pail pump. However, I got to realize that I'm still exposed to disaster. The pump lid just 'thumb-screws to the pail but doesn't seal. Got to be careful when carrying it with a full bucket and 'oh man' I don't even want to think about tipping it over.
Before I got the pump I topped things up with a gear oil suction thing. Dang, those things leak too, guess I'm just a mini-EPA case or what ever they're called here. Somebody will probably write a memo about me. Hope they don't find out the time my fire crew dangled a broken fuel line for a fire pump in a creek and made a mini slick. OOPS there goes a mini slick down-stream and another memo for sure. Don't mean to make light of EPA stuff (there are some real issues) and I do like my pump. If I didn't laugh at bureaucracy I'd cry.

the tc33 dip stick,,only the part that goes in the tube is 13 inches long(tip to rubber part) ....
